18 Weeks!

I seriously can't believe that it is already 18 weeks!! Two more weeks and I will be about half way through this pregnancy! That deserves a HOO-RAH!
Although being pregnant is definitely not a walk in the park, I know that the surprise at the end will be completely worth it :)

Before I get started with this little Bumpdate though, I have to share some exciting news!
We had my doctors appointment about 2 days before I was 18 weeks.
The appointment was completely normal...until the very end when my doctor surprised me with a little ultrasound!

We were able to find out what we are having!
So here are some little pictures---see if you can guess!

baby young bump date!

how far along:
18 weeks

baby is the size of a...
Dragon Fruit?
 Weight: 6.70 oz.
Length: 5.59 in.

gender:
so excited to say that we know, along with some family and friends

maternity clothes?
Still going strong without em...but it is getting real hard.
I have worn dresses to work all week, except for Friday which was more of a jammie bottom day...:/

sleep:
Getting up in the middle of then night is getting better...now it is only about once a night. Glad that bladder of mine is holding up :)
Sleeping is getting more difficult though. I find that I am pretty tossy turny in the night, but that could because of the stress of planning for baby!
I am thinking I will get myself one of those little prego pillows to sleep with soon.

movement:
So happy to say...YES!!
Although the movement is something that only I can feel right now, it really is the most special thing. I feel like it is our little moment together.
Best part of being pregnant!

best moment of the week:
Getting to see our sweet baby and watch "it" move around in my belly! Gosh, it is amazing.

worst moment of the week:
I had a few dramatic breakdowns in the past week...one that Craig did not know what to do with me in...but we got through it.
Heavens, the littlest things will make me cry.
I have always been known for being emotional, but things just got 10X worse...
We also had spring break this week (which was seriously a gift from heaven), but I am not looking forward to having an insane schedule again...

miss anything?
I think that I have become Lactose Intolerant because of this little babe, so I have been avoiding plain milk at all cost. It makes me feel pretty sick and is just not worth it. Although, there are many times when I am home that I question that. Sometimes it seems like a big glass of milk would just solve all of my problems.

It doesn't folks.
So here is to many months of Almond Milk.
#sonotasgood

food cravings:
Loving orange juice. Can't get enough.
Pasta Salads...
Cinnamon Rolls...
Nothing crazy comes to mind...

anything make you queasy?
Eggs. Gosh those things are just disgusting!
I can eat them, but if I get a wiff...we are done for.
Onions are even worse though. Those things are not welcome.

am I showing:
Yes, hopefully people aren't just thinking I have gained lots of weight...but it is defiantly there.

weight gain:
I really am not sure...I am thinking it is somewhere about 4-5 lbs?

belly button:
In!
But, it is looking different the further along I go...it is starting go more out!

happy or moody?
Emotional and happy...not too moody...
but maybe we should ask Craig what he thinks!

looking forward to:
School being over for the Spring...then onto 2nd block of Summer!
Buying more things for the nursery and baby!
Vacations in the summer...gosh those could come a little faster please!
Quitting my job in August...couldn't be more excited about that right now.
and seeing my sweetie again in 2 weeks for our next little 20 week ultrasound!

Love this baby too much already :)

"No You Aren't!"

All day at work was torture...yet...peaceful :)
I had the urge to just tell everyone about my news, but at the same time, I wanted to keep it a secret.
I was the only one that knew about the sweet child growing inside me and that was pretty darn special.
After three more tests at work that day, I had four positives sitting in my hand.
When I took my last test, I wasn't really surprised anymore.
I got out of the stall and looked in the mirror and soon ran right back in.
I stood there for a moment in disbelief again, and then started jumping up and down :)
I kept whispering...
"I AM GOING TO BE A MOM!!"
Obviously I still was having a hard time with this realness factor.
Fast forward to that night...
Craig had been waiting for me to get home for the last 30 minutes...but I usually don't ever get home when I say I will, so he wasn't that surprised.
Luckily for me, it was a Tuesday and that meant that Craig didn't have work.
After casually strolling through the door, I made small talk and then headed towards the bathroom. I pulled out a pregnancy test and put it in my pocket.
I then made up a weird lie..ha..to make it seem more normal...
I told him that I had eaten this yummy Dove chocolate that day and inside the wrapper it said that I would be able to beat any opponent in a game that day.
Weird? Ya...but I had to make it work...ha!

So I told him that I really wanted to play a game with him- avoiding homework...not hungry enough to cook dinner yet...etc.

So I asked him if he wanted to play LIFE!

Well, he agreed and off we were :)

I sat down with the game and threw the pregnancy test under the couch.
As we were setting it up, I casually started singing,
"Craig and Celeste- sittin in a tree,
K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the..."
And I would start over, never finishing the song...ha :)
He didn't catch on yet...don't worry!
So, I the game starts, Careers are chosen, we pass the Get Married stop, and the very next tile that Craig lands on is...
BABY GIRL ARRIVES!
I looked at Craig and try to get him focused on something other than collecting his money for PAY DAY...
I continued asking him little questions like-
AWE! A baby girl :) That's cute! Do you want to have a baby girl?
or
Do you wish that it was a boy??
or
What it that had been twins?!

-till I had his full attention.
Then I started asking,
Do you want to be a Daddy?
How bad do you want to be a Dad?
Slowly he started giving me these weird looks like, "Why are you asking me all of these questions?!"
I then switched the questions to, "What if I told you that you were going to be a daddy?"
etc...
Well, all that he could say back was...
"Celeste, stop it."
"I know you are joking around."
"Stop, no you aren't."
"This isn't funny!"
Well, as soon as the tears started flowing and I said, "Guess what! You really are going to be a daddy!" we were all smiles :)

Being able to tell him about this exciting news made it just that much more real for me.
He was in shock...haha!! We both were a little!
Of course this is something that we both want, really bad, but at the same time, this moment was so unreal.

We are going to be parents...and that is probably news to anyone :)

Dear Chillins'

I want lots of kids...Ya I said it :)
Maybe one day I will look back at this and laugh because I really probably have no idea how hard being a parent really is...but hey...those are the feelings as of today!
As Craig and I have started talking about our future family, I have had so many concerns come to mind.
I am scared to bring them into the world because I don't ever want them to get hurt or to experience the many different trials that life brings, but at the same time, I know that it has to happen.
And, I will have the privilege of being their mom.
I decided to take all my concerns and worries and throw them out the window because fear is not a good thing.
To get all of that fear out, I wrote down a list of things that I want for my children.
Feel free to read.

I obviously want my children to possess many different and great characteristics. I want them to learn from my husband and I, but I also want them to grow on their own. I want them to be brave, hard-working, honest, trusting, loving, special/unique, and every other good thing. I want them to love their religion and have a very special relationship with God. I want them to understand how important good communication skills are. I want them to know how much I love them at all times. I want them to appreciate the different types of people that this beautiful world holds. I want them to understand that trials come, but that we can overcome and WILL overcome anything that is thrown our way. I want them to be happy and to be able to find the fun and good in every situation.  I hope that they will learn most of these qualities from their parents, but I want to make sure that they have others in their lives who love them and that they can also learn from. I want them to have family and friends who build them up and are able to teach them other important qualities that are important to have.
Now, this list could go on and on if I let it- but all in all...I am excited for my future family!
Yes, there are still some nerves and worries, but I know that Craig and I (if we continue to follow the Lord's plan) will be blessed. We will experience trials, I am sure of that, but I hope that we can be strong as a family and endure it all.

As many of you, I read Stephanie Neilson's blog.
One day, this is what she wrote.

This is why I want to have a lot of children.
I want to have these memories always.
I want my children to be happy, I want them to remember that our family
was always their best support, and their best friends.
I want family life and life events- happy, hard, challenging, and even sad-
to be their best memories. Ever.
Together we can do anything.

This changed my perspective.
So to all of those gals that are feeling like me, keep your head up.
This mom business won't be easy, but from all I can see- it will most definitely be worth it :)

Papa's Day

Happy Pop's Day to everyone! It was a happy morning in the Young home as Craig got everything he wanted for breakfast! I am usually the one who makes breakfast (but Craig is always a happy helper) so I am spoiled and make what I feel like! I always crave sweet things like french toast, crepes, German pancakes, etc. BUT- Craiger always wants omelets, meat, and more meat! Because today was all about fathers (or future daddy's!). I made what he loves!

I am getting better at this omelet makin' thing!
After choir- we both rushed home to eat and prepare last minute lessons/singing time!
BEFORE
AFTER
Ok, does anyone else's husbands do this? Craig always takes a nice looking plate and smashes all of the food together- sausage, hash-browns, and omelet and puts it all on his toast...plus- ketchup ALL over. I. Can't. Handle. It. BLAH! I don't even like when my food touches...
This goob got two new ties for Pop's Day :)
After church, we enjoyed ribs and steak at Craig's parents house. Delish!
On our way back from dinner, all of my brother's family was outside. I do not mind being greeted by this squirt :)
I am sorry, but I think I have some the most adorable nieces and nephews. Craiger and I have a lot to live up to when we have our kiddies!
Watching my honey play with all of my nieces and nephews really puts a smile on my face. I know that he will be an amazing father to our children. Each day he treats me with love and patience. He acts like it is no feat dealing with me sometimes- but I know it is. He always knows what to say to make me smile, even when I don't want to. He works hard each day to prepare for our family. He is always willing to serve- and looking for opportunities. He has shown me how living a simple life can really bring some of the most happiness. He shares his love with me on a daily basis. I know our children are watching us- and are proud that they will be able to have a dad like him. I know I was blessed to meet and marry Craig. Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us.
This is my Papa Joe (his real name is Rex...but the name "Papa Joe" was inverted a couple years ago :)) I love this man so very much- words really cannot describe. I was raised by the very best dad and I am so happy that my children will have some of the best grandpas. My dad is one of the most patient people I know. He has shown me what unconditional love is. He was always there to wrap his arms around me and pull me in for a hug. He has never been afraid to express how much he loves me. No matter how much crap we gave him as his kids, he has always just responded with a goofy little smile that makes us all laugh. If I ever have a silly question- I can call my dad and he will have an answer. He has taught me how to focus on the important things in life. He has helped me gain my own testimony and has taught me how important it is to stay obedient. He has been at every dance recital, has taken me for late night runs to Starbucks and Arctic Circle after dance, has supported me at each drill team performance, and been there when I needed a shoulder to cry on. He knows when to say yes, and when to say no. He has such a gentle heart- and I hope to be just like him. I love you DAD.
This is Russell- Russ for short :) Craig's dad has never stopped welcoming me into his family. He is such a goof ball and can always think of something funny to say. Despite me always giving him a hard time, he chuckles and gives it right back! But most importantly- I am so grateful for the way he has raised his son. He has taught him how to be a hard worker. He has shown him where curiosity and lots of internet searches can get you! He has taught Craig to pursue his dreams (even if they are little ones that only last for 20 minutes). So- to say Craig wouldn't be the man he was today without this guy- would be completely correct :) Love you Russ.
So, happy Papa's Day to everyone out there. Find time to thank each of those guys that you love. I am grateful for all of mine :)
