The Reason for the Season

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Today couldn't be a happier day- and I am sure you will all hear about it soon :)

I wanted to present you all with an idea that I have had a lot of time to think about over the last couple of days.

My mother and I were able to go to the Savior of the World performance at the Conference Center downtown.
We were beyond stressed to get there in time because of the crazy amount of traffic, but we made it into our seats as they were beginning the performance with an opening prayer.
For those of you that have not had the chance to see it, please do.
It brings the meaning of Christmas into perfect perspective.
It tells the story of Jesus's birth (in detail), and then continues with the Resurrection.
I have never put the two together like that- and honestly- it added so much meaning to the night.

In the closing scene of the first Act- Mary and Joseph are in the stable and they are holding sweet baby Jesus. For the first time, I understood why it was a stable. There was no one around. They were just a family of three. This is the only time that Mary and Joseph would be alone with their son. Before long, there would be Shepherds arriving and many coming to see the Son of the Almighty God. This was their moment to have Jesus for themselves, to enjoy their own family.
In the performance, as they are showing this moment, little children- dressed in white- representing angels, surrounded them. They looked on the precious scene with such pure faces. The joy that they represented was so powerful.
My testimony was strengthened significantly by this simple sight.

As you go on your merry ways today, remember the reason for today.
"Remember, Christ our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray.
O tidings of comfort and joy"

Merry Christmas <3
